From Chris Landis to Manar & Joshua

I would like to thank all of you for coming today. I know Josh & Manar really appreciate your presence with them in this special place.
I would also like to thank my parents who have managed to stay alive for this blessed event. I know there were many times when all of us, but particularly Joan, despaired that an occasion like this will ever take place.
Having spent 46 years tracking Joshua’s growth, career, happiness, I am glad to see that Josh has found Manar and chosen to center his life.
I would also like to thank Manar for choosing my red headed brother. She has been from the start, so positive and upbeat. She has with such poise and self assuredness, been able to navigate another culture, the Landis family, Thanks Giving, Christmas, Norman Oklahoma, and academic life, the absence of her family and friends and Josh. All these qualities of character which are so evident will stand her and Josh in good stead as she explores the role and responsibilities of wife, mother, career, and being a new American.
In conclusion, I would like to paraphrase Kyle & Ryan who said, “we are happy that Josh has found Manar and that they are happy. We are happy to have a new aunt and a new cousin.”
